BBLT20: Hobart Hurricanes drubbed Perth Scorchers by 31 runs

Ben Edmondson’s four-wicket haul went in vain as Hobart Hurricanes drubbed Perth Scorchers by 31 runs in their opening game of Australia’s integral Big Bash Twenty20 League at Western Australia Cricket Association Ground, Perth on Sunday.

The 33-year-old right-arm quick produced an expensive but inevitable bowling spell of 4-40-4 to skittle away tourists for 140 in the final over, after they opted to bat.

But the manicure target remained beyond the range of hosts and they capitulated to 109. Seamers Ben Hilfenhaus and Rana Naveed Ul Hasan claimed two wickets apiece.
