Mirpur Test: Bangladesh combats but West Indies still favorites

Darren Bravo fell five runs short of his maiden double ton as West Indies have further bolstered their domination over Bangladesh in the second and definitive Test in Mirpur.

The 22-year-old left-hander developed long-standing 143-run stand besides Shivnarain Chanderpaul (59 not out) on the flat strip of Shere Bangla National Stadium as West Indies declared their second innings at 383-5, leaving Bangladesh a mountain of 503 runs to claim.

In response, riding on Tamim Iqbal’s sagacious unconquered 82 after early crises, Bangladesh were reached 164-3, still 344 runs away from the target. Tamim has struck eight boundaries and a six in his 149-ball knock so far
