D.C. United and Portland Timbers settled an exhilarating 1-1 draw at RFK Stadium on Tuesday.
Kenny Cooper put the Timbers in front with a first half strike but opponent midfielder Dwayne De Rosario canceled out his effort in the second interval. Rosario’s goal was his 16th of the season and put him alone in first place in the Golden Boot race.
Portland got dominance in the 24th minute when former D.C. defender Rodney Wallace twisted in a cross that found the head of Timbers forward Kenny Cooper, who made no mistake and nodded past Bill Hamid for his eighth goal of the season.
