The Portland Timbers continue their MLS campaign playing host to the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday evening at Jeld-Wen Field. It would be second game between both teams. In the first meeting between the teams they settled for a 1-1 draw, in which Kenny Cooper put Portland ahead in the first half but Alan Gordon equalized in the second.
