New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee will miss the solitary test against Zimbabwe after failing to recover from the knee injury he sustained during a practice session in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in India.
The injury kept 22-year-old out of the limited-overs squads for the Zimbabwe tour but selectors named him in the Test squad with the only match scheduled from the first day of November.
