Phil Jaques’ onslaught followed by Rana Naved ul Hasan as Hobart Hurricanes crushed Sydney Sixers by 42 runs on the sixth day of Australia’s integral Big Bash League Twenty20 tournament at Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Wednesday.
Jaques (73) developed a sparkling 107-run stand alongside Travis Birt (65) for second wicket to power hosts 163 for 3 after they opted to bat.
The 33-year-old Pakistan seamer then produced a devastating four-wicket haul conceding 22 runs to squeeze Sixers 127 for 9. Jason Krejza was the deputy-in-destroyer with two wickets.
