The Cricket New South Wales on Wednesday dismissed opening batsman Simon Katich as skipper of state side and replaced him with all-rounder Steve O’Keefe.
The sources revealed that the move was actually made during the winter as a part of Cricket NSW succession plan but has been kept quiet.
David Gilbert, Cricket NSW chief executive, said his organization was indebted to O’Keefe for the service he had given in the role.
