Martin Guptill notched up his second Test ton to help New Zealand claim upper-hand over Zimbabwe on the opening day of one-off Test in Bulayawo.
The left-hander (109) put on stalwart 132 beside skipper Ross Taylor (76 not out) for third wicket on the flat track Queens Sports Club as Blackcaps closed the day at 275-3 after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Prior to play a total of five new caps were handed out, as Njabulo Ncube, Malcolm Waller and Regis Chakabva made their debuts for Zimbabwe, and Dean Brownlie and Doug Bracewell were included in New Zealand’s Test side for the first time.
