The Vancouver Whitecaps beat D.C. United on Wednesday night in front of 17,288 visitors at BC Place. Camilo and Long Tan scored within the first minute of each half to seal 2-1 victory for Vancouver.

The whitecaps doubled their lead in the first minute into the second period of play when Long Tan claimed his first MLS goal, after finding Alain Rochat’s inviting cross d. The big striker’s powerful header deflected off center back Daniel Woolard. It was the first goal by a Chinese-born player in league history.
