Former Pakistan Coach Waqar Younis has advised country’s cricket board to appoint his successor from within the country as he deems that a local man can understand the system better.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), after the resign from coaching job following Zimbabwe tour due to medical reasons, constituted a five-man committee to appoint a permanent coach. The committee received 37 applications from foreign coaches as well as local ones and short-listed the names of five candidates, which are not yet publicized.
“I think it is ideal to have a local coach for many reasons,”, said while speaking to a leading sports website on Wednesday.
