Pakistan earned the bronze medal by outplaying arch-rivals India 4-1 in the third position match of International Super Series Hockey 9 at Perth on Sunday.
Muhammad Waqas slammed twice while skipper Shakeel Abbasi and Fareed Ahmed chipped in one goal apiece for Pakistan.
For India, Rajpal Singh scored the lone goal at the stroke of lemon break through a penalty corner.
India, who drew the league game against the same opposition 1-1, kicked-off the game sparklingly and sustained the control for the first five minutes but they were men in green who opened the scoreboard with Shakeel’s spectacular strike on penalty corner into the boards in 7th minute.
