Minnesota Wild bounced back by getting 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night at Honda Center, where it was the 14th conventional encounter between the teams in which the team that scored first won.
Kyle Brodziak, Matt Cullen and Jared Spurgeon scored in the first period to give Minnesota three-goal lead, Cam Fowler reduced the opponent’s lead by grabbing one goal each in last two halves but his effort was not enough.
Both teams played their first game without main goalies as Anaheim’s Lubomir Visnovsky suffered a broken finger in the final moments of Friday’s game and Minnesota’s Marco Scandella had been replaced by Clayton Stoner, who returned to the lineup after missing seven games with an injured finger.
