The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 will be the fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that will be held in Sri Lanka from September 18 to October 7.
The tournament consists of 12 teams in which all the ten ICC Full Members are automatically qualified and the remaining two spots will be contested through ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier which are scheduled to be staged in the United Arab Emirates from March 13-14 2012.
World T20 will comprise of 27 fixtures which are scheduled to be held across four venues. Hosts Sri Lanka will come head-to-head to Zimbabwe at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota on September 18 to kickoff the tournament while event’s finale will be played at the legendary stadium of R. Premadasa Stadium on October 7.
