India vs England 2nd ODI at Delhi

After India had scripted substantial 126-run victory over England in the first one-day international of five-match series in Hyderabad, their skipper MS Dhoni declined to concur the home series as “avenge series” saying his side’s focus is on playing good cricket.

The invention of terminology “avenge” was the consequence of media’s sensationalism or whatever but was certainly the manifestation of India’s two-month long disastrous tour to England during which Dhoni’s men failed to register a single victory against the hosts in any format. Apart from crowning English team World No 1 Test Rank after getting 4-0 whitewashed and slumping to fifth rank losing ODI series 3-0 just three months later they won World Cup at home, India had also lost eight of their veteran campaigners in that tour most of which are still undergoing recovery process.
