The film, produced by Karan Johar under his banner of Dharma Productions, stars Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in their first film together.
Actors Ram Kapoor, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah will be seen in supporting roles. Originally slated to release on 7 October 2011, the film was later scheduled to release on 10 February 2012.
There is a new lot of directors approaching Bollywood films differently and experimenting with their material. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is one such film. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a story about two very different people who wake up one morning in a haze in Las Vegas, following a night of debauchery, and realise they are married to each other.
The film has Imran Khan playing an out-of-job architect in Las Vegas. Kareena Kapoor plays a hairstylist. A series of events lead them to meet on Christmas eve over a few drinks, but the two end up getting sloshed and when they wake up the next morning, they discover that they have got married. Thereafter, they try to get their marriage annulled. But they are told by the court to spend ten days together.
Their decision to get their marriage annulled and the ensuing relationship that develops between them forms the crux of the film.
The soundtrack of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, released by T-Series on 26 December 2011, featured music composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
