Defending titleholder Rafael Nadal uprooted 21st Roddick 6-2, 6-1, 6-3 to have a place in semifinals that will be played at Flushing Meadows. He ruined Roddick’s potent serve six times but Roddick was unable to intimidate Nadal’s serve in 1st two sets. He did strike in third set but legendary Nadal saved all four break points there.
