The terrible news of death of one of the four co-founders of Diaspora, Ilya Zhitomirskiy, has been confirmed by Diaspora.
Ilya, reportedly, passed away over weekend. He was just 22 and cause and date of his death is publicly unknown yet.

Four New York University programming students- Daniel Grippi, Maxwell Salzberg , Raphael Sofaer and Ilya Zhitomirskiy - set Diaspora as an alternate of social networking site Facebook. All the four students were intended to build “an open-source personal web server that will put individuals in control of their data.”
