Former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara has snatched the top position in the Test batsmen’s world rankings from South Africa’s Jacques Kallis followed stalwart batting display against Pakistan in United Arab Emeritus.
The dashing left-hander had scored 516 runs in recently concluded three-match Test series slamming two tons and same number of half-tons at an average of 86.00. He was earlier No.1 in January this year, before being relocated by Kallis and India’s Sachin Tendulkar.
Kallis slipped to second place in rankings after below-par performance during the first Test against Australia, which ended at Cape Town this week.
