Afridi pulls out of Ireland series

Former Pakistan limited over skipper and veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi has withdrawn from the two one-day match series against Ireland later this month due to his father’s illness.

The spokesman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Nadeem Sarwar, on Wednesday confirmed that Afridi has joined his ailing father in the United States, where he is undergoing liver treatment.

“Afridi informed us his father has been admitted to hospital for liver treatment and he wants to be with him,” Sarwar said.

His father is going through the treatment in US and Afridi wants to spend more time with his ailing father.
