Shane Watson’s blazing half-ton helped Australia to script sensational five wicket victory over South Africa in the first Twenty20 of two-match series at Newlands, Cape Town on Thursday.
Growing from JP Duminy’s antagonistic 67 off 53 balls South Africa were on course to managed 150-plus target but Patrick Cummins’ late three wickets in one over halt their progress to reduce their innings 146-7.
In reply, Watson smashed 52 off 38 balls and developed productive 82-run stand alongside Shaun Marsh (25) as Aussies chased-down the target with three balls to spare.
